Senior Law Day Brings Out Hundreds of Seniors

  • by

On October 9, Westchester Disabled On the Move joined Westchester County for Senior Law Day. Senior Law Day is a free annual event that provides older Westchester residents with access to resources and advice on elder law and related topics. Our own legal expert and Deputy Executive Director, Charlie Italiano, Esq. was joined by Darla Lao Paula, Senior Manager, and Karali Torres, Insurance Enroller, to represent WDOM and give out free advice on home care, long-term care options, pooled trusts, Medicare, Medicaid and more.

And when we couldn’t meet the community in person, we were there online with two informative virtual programs: On September 17, Amiee Morabito & John Hofstetter from Westchester County Department of Planning discussed ESG program and HomeSeeker during an online workshop. Also, thank you to Community Housing Innovations (CHI) and its  Community Housing Rental Counselor, Massiel Rodriguez, for her online presentation on October 31 on fair housing rights, eviction prevention resources, and a range of services offered by CHI to help prevent homelessness and promote long-term housing stability.
