Doorways to Housing

  • by

More than 100 people and several housing agencies attended the very successful Doorways to Housing expo at the Riverfront Library in Yonkers on September 24th. Attendees had the opportunity to connect directly with housing experts and learn more about accessible, affordable housing opportunities tailored to their individual needs.

The event offered free resources, guidance, tools, and information. On-site application assistance was available. The program was free of charge.

“Part of our mission at Westchester Disabled On the Move is to assist people in finding housing. This is especially important for people with disabilities who want to live independently. We are thrilled that so many people took advantage of the wealth of information that was offered at this free event,’’ said Maria Samuels, Executive Director of WDOM.

Organizations attending the event included: Community Housing Innovations; The Westchester County Planning Department’s Homeseekers program, as well as local brokers and realtors. WDOM thanks the program sponsors, Community Housing Innovations, Vibes NYC; NYC Love Kitchen, and a special thank you to the Carvel Foundation.
