WDOM is one of 41 non-residential independent Living Centers (ILCs) spread across New York State. All 41 advocate for and assist People with Disabilities. This year, the other human services providers received a 2.84% COLA increase in the recently passed NYS budget, but the ILCs were unfairly excluded from the human services statute. However, there is good news. We received a $750,000 increase to share among us. We thank Senator Shelly Mayer, Chair of the Committee on Education, for that much-needed increase. This is the second time she has advocated for us and won an increase.
