The Bottom Line: WDOM In Action

  • by

There are many days when keeping WDOM up and running is a challenge, but helping residents Live Independently is our greatest reward. Hear from one of our clients, Debra Rose Williams.

Debra Rose Williams is a 68-year-old woman who is legally blind. She is enrolled in the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP). Williams had been approved for 21 hours of care from her personal assistant but needed 30 hours a week. After several appeals, Westchester Disabled on the Move was able to get Williams the hours she needed.

“With the help of Sandra Hehetror at Westchester Disabled on the Move Inc., I was pleased to get help when I thought I couldn’t. I was able, through their work, to obtain more hours for my disability and have more time for my managed care needs. The program is a big help to people who have managed care need. I am grateful to all who have helped me. I would especially like to thank Sandra for continuously being there for me step by step. Her generosity means more to me than she would ever know. Thank you so much!” — Debra Rose Williams.
