Westchester Disabled on the Move has had a busy fall schedule, conducting or participating in events to spread the word about our great services.
More than 100 people attended our Doorway to Housing Fair on September 24 at the Riverfront Library in Yonkers, where participants connected with housing experts and learned more about accessible, affordable housing opportunities.
The free program offered guidance, tools, and on-site application assistance. Over 40 housing applications were filled out by staff and volunteers and submitted. Thanks to Community Housing Innovations (CHI), The Westchester County Planning Department’s HomeSeeker program, as well as local brokers and realtors who attended. Yonkers Council Member Tasha Diaz dropped in to say hello. And thanks to our special housing programs sponsor Carvel Foundation for making this event possible. And to Vibes 3 in Yonkers and Lovers Kitchen Byrd & Precious for providing delicious food.
