Westchester Disabled On the Move (WDOM) has received a $15,000 grant from the Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation to help people with disabilities live independently.
“We thank the Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation, who have been long-time supporters of our organization, for recognizing the important role WDOM plays in helping people with disabilities lead independent lives,’’ said Westchester Disabled On the Move’s Executive Director Maria Samuels. “This generous donation will help us to fund programs that provide services that help people find housing or obtain services that allow them to remain in their own homes.’’
The Thomas & Agnes Carvel Foundation is a private foundation established in 1956 by Thomas Carvel, the founder of the Carvel ice cream company. The foundation primarily supports charitable causes in areas such as health care, arts, children, youth, social services, and higher education.
