Gail has been actively involved with WDOMI for over 25 years, first as a volunteer mentor and then as a board member. She has held numerous board positions on the Executive Board as well as participated on several Board Committees. Gail has had Cerebral Palsy since birth. She brings to her position as Board President a passion for and an understanding of the impact living independently within one’s community has on an individual.
Gail is a NYS and nationally licensed Speech and Language Pathologist as well as a NYS licensed Special Education teacher with 33 years of teaching experience within the New York City school system. She received her B.A. from Long Island University in Speech Pathology and Audiology and her Masters of Science from Columbia University in Speech and Language Pathology. On October 24, 2004, The United Federation of Teachers Committee for Members Who Are Capably Disabled presented her with The Distinguished Achievement in Education Award. Gail is the mother of two children and resides with her husband in Yorktown Heights, New York.
