Westchester Disabled On the Move Inc. is recruiting new board members!
Westchester Disabled On the Move, Inc. (WDOM), a not-for-profit non-residential Independent Living Center for people with disabilities is located in Yonkers, New York. Since 1985, WDOM has provided services to people of all ages with disabilities who reside throughout Westchester County.
The Center’s staff and Board of Directors are predominantly people with disabilities. Our motto of “People Empowering People” intends to provide each consumer with the self-help skills to live independently, controlling their own lives in matters such as housing; community based long term care, education, employment and public benefits. On the local and state government levels, the agency advocates for civil rights, a barrier free society and encourages consumers to participate in the political process and in their communities.
We are currently seeking board members with a background in:
- Finance
- Business/Accounting
- Social Media
- Human Resources
- Fundraising
